Jharkhand went a step forward towards establishing e-office as it became the first State to have an interface with the AG office Jharkhand in the matters of leave management. Chief Minister Raghubar Das inaugurated the interface in the presence of Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma and Principal AG (A&E), Jharkhand, MR Bhattacharya here on Monday.

Managing leave data in an organisation can be difficult when done manually. However, modern technology can significantly simplify leave management and add value by streamlining the organization’s leave data. The Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department and Office of the Principal AG (A&E), Jharkhand have jointly developed the Online Interface for Management of leave matters under HRMS.

It is based on DotNet Framework technology having NIC SMS/e-mail facility inbuilt in the system which is stored securely on National Data Centre, New Delhi.

The online leave management system can resolve provides accurate information about leave balances, leave trends etc. which allows authorities to forecast available resources/manpower at any point of time.

It uses in-built systems to convey leave rules like maximum, minimum number of days at an employee’s credit, number and type of leaves admissible etc. Employees can, at any time, refer to the leave policy before applying for leave of their choice.

Often lack of knowledge about organizational leave policies, lead to negligence of leave rules by employees and officers. A leave Management System uses inherent rules that do not allow employees or officers to bypass rules while applying for or approving leaves.
