Members of district trade bodies and other groups feel FJCCI very helpful for businessmen

The Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) is often criticised for lacking multi-oriented approach towards businessmen across the State but the business fraternity from urban to suburban towns and cities seem to have high regard for the trade body.

According to a survey conducted by an independent agency related to trade and business in Jharkhand, majority of businessmen acknowledge that the FJCCI extends help and support to affiliated bodies and the federation plays a pivotal role in getting justice for the members of business community.

The survey results revealed on Saturday that 54 per cent people consider the FJCCI immensely helpful in helping or extending support to local affiliated bodies. They feel that the trade body provides necessary impetus to the local bodies to put fourth their cause. On the other hand, 36 per cent businessmen, who underwent the survey, said that they do not seek support from the Chamber, while another 10 per cent stated that they get a little help or support from the trade body.

Incidentally, 80 per cent of the people said that they believed that the FJCCI was capable of delivering justice to the businessmen or helping a businessman get justice in the State. Rest 18 per cent people said that the Chamber did not help businessmen get justice, while another two per cent did not have any idea on the issue.

For 40 per cent people among those who underwent the survey said that Chamber elections were very important. The polls were important for 50 per cent people, little important for two per cent and not important for eight per cent businessman of the State.

When asked about the leaders and capabilities of the two teams fighting the Executive Committee election scheduled on September 7, most of the businessmen kept mum. As many as 56 per cent businessmen said that they would better vote than to speak on their preferences. However, 30 per cent of them favoured team Pawan Bajaj and rest 14 per cent were with team Ratan Modi.

The inputs of the survey were taken from businessmen from across the State belonging to district bodies and other affiliated bodies of the FJCCI. Voting for the election scheduled on Sunday will begin at 9 am and 2,431 voters are likely to exercise their franchise to select 21-member executive committee of FJCCI. The majority of winning team members will elect their leader as the new FJCCI president for the tenure of one year.
