The proceedings at the Special CBI Court of Shiv Pal Singh remained suspended on Friday following a resolution taken by Ranchi District Bar Association to boycott his court for five days. The decision was taken in the wake of alleged regular misconduct towards the advocates representing their clients in the Court, said advocates.
A meeting was held on Thursday following an application submitted by senior lawyer Satyanaran Prasad to the Association referring that the court behaved in an unconstitutional way when he tendered time petition through one of his junior Suresh Singh following death of his father. In his application, Prasad stated that in spite of allowing his time petition, the case was put for day to day hearing.
“Decision of the Association was executed by the advocates and none of us went to the Court of Shiv Pal Singh to represent their lawyers,” said General Secretary of RDBA Sanjay Vidrohi. The decision was taken after several such incidents took place in the same court again and again, he added.

Advocates, present in the packed court room to hear the historical judgment in the case, got incensed when the Court said that it will not tolerate hooliganism after they refused to leave court. lawyers allowed the Court to hear the arguments in the case, only after the oral apology offered by it.
Meanwhile, the prosecution witnesses the then BSNl Deputy General Manager Girdhari lal and District Animal Husbandry Officer Arun Kumar Sinha, summoned by Special CBI Court of Pradip Kumar, did not appear in another fodder scam case RC47A/96 relating to the RJD Chief due to which it was deferred till Saturday.
