As many as 215 Government schools in Ranchi district whose performance is substandard have been demarcated by the administration. Notably, School Management Committee (SMC) of these schools has been dissolved for giving unsatisfactory performance. The new SMC have been constituted and training of resource personnel will be initiated from October 2, said DC Manoj Kumar, while briefing the press in Media Samvad programme.

Furthermore, 2.34 lakh Aadhaar (UIDAI) numbers of the government school students have been linked with the bank accounts in the capital city. Notably, 2.70 lakh students has been targeted in Ranchi for getting the facilities through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), added Kumar.

In another major initiative 141 government schools of Ranchi district which have fewer enrollments will be merged with the nearby government schools that have abundant students and teachers within a certain radius. With the motto to improve the teacher student ratio and to utilise the school buildings for other resourceful activities, the decision has been considered.

“Training of resource personnel has been initiated. At present, we are checking the student teacher ratio at these substandard schools. Soon teachers will be deputed in these schools to improve the status. The merger procedure of 141 schools has been complete in the district,” said, DSE Ranchi, Shivendra Kumar.

Focusing on rural development schemes, DC in an interaction gave details about the ongoing schemes which include the status of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, MGNREGA, Prime Minister Suraksha Bima Yojana.

Kumar further added, “Soon Panchayat Bhawan will be constructed in 56 panchayats. Pragya Kendras, Bharat Net Service, banks and other offices will be operated from the Panchayat Bhawan being constituted under 14th Finance Commission.”

Similarly, giving details about the initiatives taken up by Ranchi police, SSP Kuldeep Dwivedi, added, “In an initiative to create awareness among youths, the department has initiated few projects to create legal awareness and traffic awareness among the students. Programmes like ‘Aao Sath Chalein’ have already been initiated and is being conducted in various educational institutions at present.” “Through Student Safety Programme (SSP), students committee will be formed to address the campus problems. The concept behind SSP is to appoint one police officer as resource personnel, who will gather the information from school and colleges at a regular gap falling under their jurisdictions about student’s safety and other vital issues,” added, Dwivedi.

Initiatives like ‘Ride with Pride’ will be organised by the traffic police department, twice a month in capital city. Additionally, TOP will be activated soon. The police department has also considered the decision to divide the state capital in 116 beats for better surveillance. There is also a plan to start a whatsapp group and include few civilians in some project to bridge the gap between police personnel and public.
