After wooing investors at Global Investors Summit (GIS), the Ranchi district administration is identifying land in the suburban localities of the city where some industrial hubs can be set up. The district administration has already started the process to transfer some 100 acres of land to JIADA.

“Few places at Nagri block have been identified and found suitable for setting up food processing units. Similarly, 25 acres of land of agriculture department near Ormanjhi block, 15 acres of land behind Birsa Agriculture University (BAU), 25 acres of land near Hotwar for Textile Park setup is being identified. 210 acres of land is also identified near Tupudana,” said, Ranchi DC, Manoj Kumar while addressing the media persons here on Tuesday.

If all goes well, nearly 500 acres of land will be given to different investors for setting up their units within the Capital City periphery, claimed Kumar. Around the State Capital, the administration will provide small chunks of land to the unit owners to start-up their businesses.

As the Capital City maintenance is back to square one after the GIS, the district administration has also geared up to come up with an alternate plan to manage the city traffic alongside keeping the place clean. Kumar claimed that in order to keep the city streets encroachment free, regular drives will be conducted by the district administration as per the orders.

In order to prevent mishaps, 30 cuts along the New Market area will be closed by the April end. The District Safety Association has identified 26 black spots at major locations within the Capital City.

In collaboration with Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC), the district administration will also deploy 250 marshals along 100 home guards. “To avoid traffic snarl at five major routes, MG Marg, Raj Bhawan route, Kantatoli and New Market area, an alternate traffic plan for parking space has been proposed. Five enforcement teams have been formed. The teams will be divided into five zones.

for easing traffic congestion along the major roads. Rs. 37 lakh have been allocated for addressing the black spots problem to the administration,” added Kumar.
