Ramnavmi is an important festival of Chotanagpur and here at Hazaribagh it is celebrated with more enthusiasm and zeal. We are aware of this fact so it is our appeal to you all to celebrate Ramnavmi this year too with same spirit in peaceful atmosphere.” This appeal was made by DC Mukesh Kumar and SP Akhilesh Jha in a meeting with the office bearers of Ramnavmi Mahasamiti and representatives of different Akharas.

Addressing the representatives of Mahasamiti, Akharas and members of peace committee DC Mukesh Kumar said that for peaceful conclusion of this festival the district administration needed your help too. If you would keep in mind the fact that your celebration should not increase the problem of others then everything would be on right track.

The district administration has fixed some parameters for the tableaux this year. It will not be more than 10 feet long and 8 feet wide. One akhara will be permitted to use only four sound boxes keeping in view the sound pollution and in convenience to general people due to use of many sound boxes. DC Kumar said that every tableaux and procession will be under lens eye this time and the akharas found guilty of disrupting peace will not get license next year.

SP Akhilesh Jha said that a good number of police and paramilitary forces would be deployed during Ramnavmi. This time they were going to deploy female jawans in large number especially for the security of women spectators of the procession. He also gave a detailed account of the time-table fixed for the passing of tableaux from the procession route. In this meeting the representatives of Mahasamiti, akharas and members of peace committee raised some problems and put some demands before the district administration.

Taking the problems and demands seriously DC Mukesh Kumar immediately directed the officials to take care of those. He also directed the executive officer of PWD and municipal council to repair the damaged roads and to clean the procession route properly within next 3-4 days. He also directed the Civil Surgeon to prepare a chart of doctors and staffs on 24x7 duty in the hospital and at identified spots of the procession route so that people got injured during display of weapons should get treatment immediately. He also ordered to keep the ambulances ready in hospital campus and on sides of procession route.

All the important officers of district and police administration were present in this meeting and DC directed them too to remain vigilant during the festival and to keep eye on continuous supply of water, electricity etc.
