With the onset of winter, the district administration has begun its blanket distribution drive. Ranchi DC, Manoj Kumar said that the consignment of 40,000 blankets has been received this year from Jharcraft while the Circle Officers (COs) have been instructed to identify the spots for bonfire arrangement.
“This season, the consignment has come in fixed time since no tender procurement process was required this year. Also, the number of blankets has been increased from merely 23,000 to 40,000. In the first phase, we have sent the blankets to rural areas. At each panchayat, 100 blankets will be sent. Targeting the wards, 95 blankets will be given to each ward councilors for distribution,” Kumar said.
“Soon, at major locations, arrangements for bonfire will be made. COs have been instructed to identify the spots and submit the details at the earliest. Also, order has been issued for procuring tender for firewood purchase as per the requirement,” Kumar added.
