There will be a ban on 'Akhada' (playing sticks) and 'Tazia processions' during Muharram on 20th August across the Bokaro district. No gathering of any kind will be allowed, said Kuldeep Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner Bokaro.
Procession and Akhada will not be permitted as per Government guidelines and Covid protocol. “In view of the possible third wave of coronavirus, we all have to be more alert and careful,” added DC.
Keeping the Tajiya at its proper and respective place, people will worship by following social distancing. Masks and sanitizers will have to be used with the social distancing of six yards, he said.
DC appealed to people to celebrate Muharram in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere and asked police officials and magistrates to act at their discretion.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up across the district in view of the festivity. A high alert has been declared in the direction of higher-ups; cops are instructed to tackle all the adverse situations and keep strong security arrangements. Patrolling has been intensified to avert any untoward incidents in the duo district, a police official said.
Additional cops would be deployed very soon to provide foolproof security cover during the festival. Cops also asked to keep a vigil on anti-social elements, including mobike riders inside the city as well as on the entry point in the cities. Miscreants would be dealt with strictly, and no compromise will be made to provide security to the people.
