Additional Chief Secretary of Urban Development Department Arun Kumar Singh on Thursday held a meeting with Municipal Commissioners, Chief Executive Officers, and Executive Officers of all Municipal bodies in the State and reviewed the schemes being undertaken in their areas. During the review meeting, Singh sought the list of finished schemes during of the financial year 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18.
Singh also directed the officials to complete the incomplete schemes older than two years within the next 31 days. The Additional Chief Secretary also asked them to complete them as soon as possible taking without compromising with the quality of it.
Singh during the meeting reviewed schemes of more than 50 lakh and also discussed the schemes approved by the 14th Finance Commission. He also directed the officials to form parking committee, as it has been made mandatory for all Municipal bodies to implement the new parking policy in their areas. The Additional Chief Secretary also asked the officials to develop commercial work culture in their areas for which they need to change their working culture. In the mean time, Adityapur Municipal Corporation has been declared forerunner in adopting commercial work culture till January 2018 whereas Jhumri Tilalyya has topped among Municipal Corporations. Godda has excelled among Municipal Panchayats which will be felicitated by the department.
Singh also directed the officials to dispose of the tenders within stipulated time.
