The number of active cases of Covid-19 infection dropped below 3,000 in Jharkhand on Sunday after 291 patients recovered from the infection in 24 hours while only 129 fresh cases surfaced, figures compiled by the health department stated.
As per a bulletin released by the health department on Sunday, the active corona cases in the State has dropped below 3000. As per the health bulletin, the number of active corona cases in the State on Sunday was 2952.
On Sunday, Jharkhand reported 129 fresh corona cases, but at the same time 291 persons recovered from infection. The bulletin states that Covid tally in Jharkhand is 106064, while 102188 persons have recovered from infections. On Sunday, two people died from infection. The two deaths were reported from Ranchi and East Singhbhum respectively. With two fresh fatalities, the total fatalities in the State stands at 924.
The drop in active cases, less deaths and fast recovery of patients has helped in increasing the recovery rate. The state recovery rate is 96.54 per cent which is better than the national average of 93.16 per cent.
The state’s Covid mortality rate too is better than national average. Jharkhand Covid 19 mortality rate is .87 per cent, while national mortality rate is 1.50 per cent.
Out of total 924 deaths, 464 people died of infection in the age group of 51-70 years, followed by above 70 years. 234 people who are above 70 years have lost thier lives battling infection.
