In a big relief to the State, the Covid 19 cases in Jharkhand has dropped below 1,000 mark on Friday. On Friday, as per health bulletin the number of active cases is 978. On Friday 127 people recovered from infection, while 75 fresh cases were reported from different parts of State. On Friday two persons lost their lives battling infection. The two deaths were reported from Ranchi and Palamu districts each.
With the death of two more persons, the total casualties due to corona pandemic has gone up to 1060 since the pandemic broke out in March last year. The total positive cases of corona in State on Friday stood at 118154, while 1,16,116 persons have recovered and discharged from hospital. On Friday, 12679 samples were rested out of which 75 samples were tested positive while rest was tested negative. The maximum cases once again was from Ranchi where 48 fresh cases were reported while at the same time 66 persons recovered and discharged from hospital.
With the drop in active cases the state recovery rate has improved. The state recovery rate on Friday was 98.27 per cent while mortality rate is .89 per cent.
Gender and age wise the maximum cases are at the age group of 51-70 years with 525 deaths in the group. Gender wise males are more vulnerable to infection.
