A company started by an IIM alumnus, who also happens to be one of the top 10 motivational speakers in the world, is set to bring leaders from 10 countries under one roof to explore, nurture and inculcate leadership skills among people during challenging and crippling crisis situations like the Covid-19 pandemic.
Indian Leadership Academy (ILA), an organisation that not only aims at developing leadership skills among individuals but also teaches them mindfulness, will host an International Coaching Festival on December 20, wherein 10 experts from 10 different countries will share their experiences of overcoming different challenges and emerging as leaders in their respective fields.
The idea behind the initiative is to help people identify their leadership skills in whichever field they are associated with. The special speakers include corporate professionals, life coaches, trainers, businessmen, HR professionals, teachers and even students.
“The coaching festival is aimed at making people resilient and also help them find their leadership skills in order to face the upcoming challenges in their lives,” said Riti Singh, the head of training and coaching at ILA. “One can be a leader in any field and excel. Even homemakers, students and teachers need leadership skills. It is an important quality which can be polished and bettered with the right approach,” she added.
The ILA was started by Kaushik Mahapatra, who has over 23 years of work experience in the UK, US and Australia after graduating from the premiere B-school in India. Mahapatra is also a corporate trainer, a coach, a tip selling author, a leadership expert and an expert in mindfulness techniques.
On the December 20 event, leaders from Ireland, Singapore, Australia, Dubai, Germany, India, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand and Sri Lanka will speak to the participants via video conferencing. Usually, such events are held offline, but this year it will be held online in wake of the Covid-19 restrictions.
Some of the topics for the session are particularly aimed at improving the mental health of the participants. The Covid-19 pandemic, like any other crisis, had a devastating impact on the mental health of several people across the globe irrespective of their sphere of work.
Some of the speakers at the event will give lessons on navigating through challenging times with mindfulness and compassion, while some will throw light on the different stages of psychological safety.
