Chief Minister Hemant Soren has reiterated that accidental group insurance of Rs2 lakh for the working journalists will be started soon in the State. Soren was addressing a gathering during a communication programme with the media at Indoor Stadium in Dumka on Sunday. Over 500 journalists of the six districts of Santhal Pargana were present during the programme.
“I wanted to do something for the journalists of this State which could only have been done today.Taking advantage of the opportunity, better development could be brought to the State. I have also directed the senior district officials to establish better communication with the journalists,” said the CM.Soren further added that despite having limited time period, he made all efforts to make optimum utilisation of it. Soren, at this occasion also handed over a cheque of Rs one lakh to the wife of a journalist late Sanjay Kumar from the Chief Minister’s relief fund.
Journalists coming of all the six districts of Santhal Pargana also put their problems and grievances before the Chief Minister and also suggested measures in order to bring in development for the State. Soren after hearing them patiently, assured that better programmes will be introduced in the future for their welfare.
