An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Jharkhand Police posted at Daru Police Station in Hazaribag district was arrested by sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) while taking bribe of Rs 10,000.
After the arrest ACB SP Sudarshan Mandal told that investigation is being conducted in this regard. The SP said that the arrested ASI has been identified as Sukhram Bhagat. “A youth named Raqib Ansari had complained to the ACB in this regard. After the complaint, the investigation of the case was handed over to the Dy SP in which the charges were found to be correct. The complainant had alleged that on the name of giving bail to some arrested persons familiar to the complainant, the accused ASI had asked for a sum of Rs 12 thousand. The deal was settled at Rs 10, 000,” he added.
The ACB team started investigation after the complain was filed by Ansari. The complainant went to meet the ASI with Rs 10,000 on Wednesday.
