The divisional Anti Corruption Bureau team is still searching the properties of forest ranger Digambar Singh. For the last two days the ACB team has searched about 70 accounts in different banks of Hazaribagh having more than `5 crores deposited in these accounts, all in the names of the Ranger, his wife, son and daughters.

The ACB team on July 27 raided the house of Range Officer of Bagodar East situated in Saketpuri colony of Hazaribagh town. During the raid the team has seized more than 2 dozen passbooks along with jewellery, property papers, insurance papers, five cars, two bikes, documents of other assets and 31.77 lakhs cash.

After the raid ACB team is now investigating in all the banks about the accounts and lockers in the names of Singh and his family members.

In the investigation the team members have noted that Singh has bank accounts in both private and nationalised banks.

In nationalised bank accounts little amounts have been found so far but in private banks like ICICI, Axis, IDBI, HDFC and others huge amount was found.

These accounts and the transactions made through these accounts by Singh and his family member has raised a big question on the functioning of these banks. Most of the accounts are without having PAN number though for transaction of more than 50,000 it is necessary.

So far no locker has been found by the ACB team in any bank. The team has sought information from the registry and other offices to trace the land and other deals made by this family.

As per sources till date the team has recovered or seized properties of more than 10 crores and is estimating to cross it over 25 crores as they have to search in his native place and place of service also.

Singh is originally a resident of Itkhori block of Chatra district and was posted in Giridih district.
