ABVP Vs all others in VBU student union election

Published on:

It appears to be a direct fight between Akhil Bharitya Vidyarthi Parishad and student organizations of all other political parties active in the State in the second round of student union election of Vinoba Bhave University Hazaribagh. The scenario has emerged after the process of scrutiny and withdrawal of names by the candidates who had filed their papers for different posts. Five candidates withdrew their papers hence leaving only eight in the fray for four seats of VBU student union.

For the post of president ABVP candidate Ritesh Kumar Yadav of St. Columba’s college Hazaribagh is fighting against Om Prakash Sinha of JM College Bhurkunda. Om Prakash is actually of AJSU but in this election he is the joint candidate of all other opposition student organizations. likewise for the post of Vice President it will be a direct fight between Aloka Rani (ABVP) of Chatra College vs. Supriya Kumari (JVCM) of Annada College Hazaribagh. For the post of Secretary Adarsh Turvey of Sarviya college is ABVPs candidate and Ranjan Kumar Sharma (AJSU) of Bhadrkali college Koderma is in fray. It will be a fight between ABVPs Varsha Rani of JJ college Tilaiya and Tula Ram Mahto of Jharkhand college Dumri for the post of joint secretary.

On 19th January 134 voters elected from different colleges and PG departments will use their franchise to constitute the university level student union. After the results of phase I as per the claims made by ABVP leaders and news from different colleges it was clear that ABVP is again going to win the university level election. It was said that in first phase ABVP has won 82 seats. Now the united opposition is claiming that their 62 candidates had won in first phase. If we add both the number reaches to 144 i.e. 10+ than the actual number of voters.  The magic figure for capturing any seat is 68 in this election. The joint opposition is claiming that 10 so called ABVP winners are going to vote for them. Whatever be the stands of ABVP and united opposition it is clear that this year too the winners of Sanskrit colleges of Ranchi, Chaibasa and Garhwa and of Ayurvedic college Ranchi will once again play a vital role in deciding the fortunes of the candidates.
