A sudden fall in temperature followed by minor to moderate rainfall in many parts of the State has forced people to stay back in their homes during last 24 hours. Weathermen say that the change in weather is caused by depression over Bay of Bengal during last 48 hours which is likely to cause minor to moderate showers in many parts of the State.
Though fall of mercury has left entire State shivering, the situation in Ranchi and neighbouring district has appeared bad with no relief until Saturday. IMD Ranchi Centre has forecasted the rain which started in second half of Wednesday night is expected to continue till weekend with abrupt rise and fall minimum and maximum temperature.
The Centre recorded maximum temperature at 22 degree Celsius on Thursday with minimum falling down to 17 degree Celsius. However, the Centre has warned people to get ready to adjust with maximum temperature rising to 25 degree Celsius while minimum temperature not rising in proportion which is expected to remain around 17 degree Celsius on Friday in and around Ranchi with minor to moderate rainfall worsening the situation.
However, IMD Ranchi Centre official Dilip Kumar said that Saturday this week is going to witness one of the most abrupt weather conditions during the month with maximum temperature expected to rise up to 26 degree Celsius while minimum temperature falling to 16 degree Celsius. “This kind of temperature difference is not very healthy for people and it is advisable to them to remain away from open areas as much as possible,” said Kumar.
Trains and flight operations remained hit due to foggy weather during late evenings to early mornings with most of the trains scheduled to arrive in Ranchi in the morning are running very late.
