A 27-year-old daughter of a Ranchi-based businessman, Ganesh Sahu, who was allegedly abducted from lalpur on March 16, has been murdered by her abductors. According to police, the people arrested in connection with the case confirmed the murder of Nidhi Kumari as the investigation into the case is still on to uncover the entire plot behind abduction and to authenticate various conspiracy theories.
Police on Wednesday arrested two people in connection with the case from Janta Colony at Patratu in Ramgarh district. The arrested accused confessed that the girl was murdered in Bihar. The people arrested in connection with the case have been identified as Amit Satyarthi and Sonu Kumar Soren. Police recovered arms, vehicle and SIM card used to execute the plot in Fatuha, Bihar.
"The accused have confessed and the dead body was disposed in Fatuha PS area after killing the girl. We have verified the girl from the photographs that the Fatuha police have taken and also from the statements regarding the manner of killing," said SSP Ranchi, Prabhat Kumar. A team of police is likely to visit the place of incident to collect further evidences and to recover the body.
A case of abduction was filed with lalpur police on May 11 and the abductors had demanded a ransom of Rs 30-lakh from the girl's businessman father. The accused were pressurizing the family yield to their demand by May 17. However, the case is likely to take a curious turn as preliminary investigations are pointing at a different plot as the news as it is trickling down suggests that the girl was murdered even before the deadline set by assailants for paying the ransom amount. The girl was murdered within days after alleged abduction.
"This is not a case of abduction. The girl had affair with the culprit who was married and she started pressurizing the man to marry her that led to all these incidents. She was killed shortly after she went missing," maintained the Ranchi SSP.
The girl had gone missing on March 16 from lalpur and a case was registered with lalpur police on May 11 after all attempts by family members to trace the girl failed. The girl used to live at KM Mallick Road at lalpur and parents of the girl alleged in the FIR filed on May 11 that the victim was taken away by abductors. Relatives of the girl mentioned in the FIR that they received calls from the girl's mobile on April 29 and the abductors demanded Rs 30-lakh to set the girl free.
According to sources, the girl's mobile was used to call her mother to put the demand of ransom. later, call details of the girl's mobile suggested the location at Mumbai.
