The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will organize a state level volunteers’ meet on Sunday. The meeting will be presided by Dr. Kumar Vishwas and national spokesperson of AAP and member of executive committee Sanjay Singh. For the last 3 years party is functioning in Jharkhand, however its visibility and impact is yet to be visible here.
Citing details about the meeting agenda, party in-charge of Bihar and Jharkhand Sanjeev Jha said, “This is an attempt to gather every volunteer from across the State and discuss on vital agendas seeking everybody opinions and views. Moreover, we are also trying to structure the party in Jharkhand so that we can properly work for the development of state as a whole.”
“This meeting will also give rest to all the notions among public that AAP is only working in Delhi. And as party is planning to expand itself, so it is mandatory that basic policies, ideas and model need to be formulated in context with Jharkhand,” added Jha.
In January 2014, approximately 3 lakhs workers enrolled with AAP in Jharkhand. “When enrollment drive was going on many people registered them with AAP, so now one basic structure is required in the party to establish its presence in the State. Presently, on the party priority list we have Jharkhand and four other states which include Rajasthan, Uttarkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan,” said Basant Hetamsaria from Ramgrah, a member of AAP.
The volunteers meeting will be held at 11 AM at Vidhan Sabha Maidan. According to a member of party as many as 5 thousands party workers are expected to participate in the meeting. AAP is trying to spread its presence in state with its core agenda like corruption and other developmental agenda.
Though few prominent people are associated with the party in state, still party is trying to carve its niche in Jharkhand and other states of India. Currently, AAP is popular among urban electorates while people residing in the rural pockets are still unfamiliar with the presence of APP formed in November 2012.
