The State Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced on Saturday that the party will contest at 25-30 State Assembly seats in the forthcoming Assembly Elections in Jharkhand.

Addressing his maiden press meet after joining AAP former State Congress Chief, Ajoy Kumar said that in many areas the party is in strong position and will see better results. “The first list of the candidates will be released by the party on Sunday. AAP has done historical work in the field of education, health, electricity, water and traffic in Delhi in about four-five years,” he added.

Criticising the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led State Government Kumar said that even after 19 years of the formation of the State, all the systems are in bad shape. “All these issues will be important for the AAP in the coming elections. Jharkhand has become worse than before during the BJP rule under the leadership of Raghubar Das. The BJP has done injustice to all the tribals, labourers, farmers, students and youth. AAP will create a better Jharkhand for all,” he added.

Revealing future strategy of the party Kumar said that the AAP will be the largest party in the civic elections of 2020 and 2023 and will win about 60-70 per cent seats. “We have already started preparing to form the Government on our own by winning the 2024 Assembly elections in State,” he added.

On the Supreme Court’s decision on the Ram Janmabhoomi and Babri Masjid dispute, Kumar said that the party respects the judgment of the Court and he appealed to the public to respect this decision. “At present the entire world is watching India. In such a situation, people of all castes and religions should move forward keeping mutual harmony and brotherhood to create a better India,” he added.

Kumar, the national Spokesperson of the AAP and former MP from Jamshedpur, reached Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, where he was vehemently welcomed by AAP workers and officials at the airport. Kumar is visiting Jharkhand for the first time after joining AAP.

On the occasion, the State Convenor of the party Jaishankar Chaudhary, State Vice President, Prem Kumar, State Treasurer, Alok Sharan, State Secretary, Rajan Singh, State Vice President, Pawan Pandey, State Media In-charge, Rajesh Kumar, Joint Secretary, Yasmin Lal, Spokesperson, Kunal Mishra, Social Media Incharge, Pritam Mishra, District Incharge, Anjan Verma, City President, Ajay Mehta, Anil Chaudhary, Amit Kumar, Usha Kiran, Dr. Avinash Naray , Renuka other people were present, including TI, Wasim Akram, Shivam Kumar and  Aman Sao.
