The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party that is looking to spread its wings in Jharkhand after Delhi, Punjab and few other smaller States, has approached Sunil Sahu, who resigned from Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) as general secretary a couple of days back.
Sahu while leveling serious allegations against JVM principal general secretary and legislative body leader Pradeep Yadav had on Monday tendered his resignation from party post and is waiting for any formal response in this regard. “Since I have sent my resignation to JVM supremo Babulal Marandi, leaders from different political parties, including the AAP have contacted me. AAP Jharkhand in-charge Sanjeev Jha called me up on Tuesday and offered me to join the party. I told him that I have no objection joining AAP but want some time to ponder over about my future course of action,” said Sahu on Wednesday.
When contacted, APP unofficially confirmed about the development. “Yes the contact was made since we came to know about his disassociation with JVM. The party is looking for able local leaders in Jharkhand to build its base over there,” said a senior party functionary over phone from Delhi.
However, Sahu is buying his time after the rebellion. “Yesterday itself, JVM’s farmers’ wing president Shivlal Mahto contacted me and told that a meeting of mine with Babulal would take place on September 24 to discuss the issues. I will wait and if talks with Marandi’s do not materialise, I would put my cards on the table,” he said.
Meanwhile, JVM came rock solid behind Marandi and eye of the storm Pradeep Yadav. “Babulal Marandi and Pradeep Yadav are guiding lights of the party and would remain so. There are certain leaders who out of their vested interests hurl allegations and go away. The entire party is behind the leaders,” said Bandhu Tirkey.
