Aadhaar Suvidha Kendra opened

Aadhaar Suvidha Kendra was inaugurated at Regional Office of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) of the state capital on Tuesday. Residents can avail facilities like Aadhaar registration, correction, processing status, biometric update, black and white e-aadhaar and smart aadhar card in the centre between 10:30 am to 4pm.

“The facilities of Aadhaar will be similar to that provided in Pragya Kendras functional in every block. The only difference is that better facilities will be provided here as it would work in our presence,” said UIDAI Ranchi Regional Office Deputy Director General (DDG) Nandana Munshi. According to UIDAI rules, a person will have to pay Rs 15 for making any corrections in the Aadhaar card and Rs 30 for obtaining smart Aadhar card after receiving the original lengthy Aadhaar card.

Munshi highlighted that the enrollment of individuals for Aadhaar in Jharkhand is 97 percent but 83 percent in the mentioned figure have been issued the Aadhaar card. She said these centres will help in bridging the 14 percent gap. “The gap is due to duplicate enrollment of one person and technical errors like incorrect address or name,” she said.

In case of queries, the Regional Office has announced its old toll free number 18003001947.  Residents can call in the number during working hours of the Suvidha Kendra. Presently, two staffs of UIDAI and two staffs of United Telecom limited (an executive agency of Jharkhand Government) are working in the Suvidha Kendra.

Munshi said based on the public demand, they will increase the manpower. Asked on the state wide data of Pragya Kendras offering Aadhaar services, Munshi said there are 67 Pragya Kendras of which majority are in Dumka.
