A plateful of food for the police here in Daltonganj. It was to thank the police officers for the peaceful polls in Palamu. Palamu went to voting on April 10 and contrary to all apprehensions and fears the polling went off peacefully with no harm or damage coming to either the security forces or the polling parties.
The host was Y S Ramesh the SP Palamu. Those who had seen him or talked to him before April 10 must not have missed to see a kind of grimness in his voice but this Wednesday April 16 he was asking media persons to have food but a couple of media persons who used to ask him not so happy queries on or before April 10 were left out. And this could be just without any prejudice wished those who were a left out in this thanks giving lunch.
Speaking to Pioneer Ramesh said this plateful of food was nothing but to share some lighter moments with the police officials who performed well and the polling remained incident free all through Palamu which had 1,322 booths some in the hot bed of extremism.
‘It was election that my brave boys carried on well but also they did a tiring work in arranging every thing for the CPMF ( central para military force)’ said Ramesh who declined to make elaboration on this but the Pioneer learnt from other police sources that CPMF gave Palamu police enough of tensions.
The DGP Jharkhand Rajeev Kumar was once the DIG of police Palamu and this officer then championed the cause of feast among the copswith the masses with the idea to promoting a confidence and faith of the masses in the police apparatus.
