Out of the stolen 183 cylinders, 90 cylinders reached the store of Hazaribag Medical College and Hospital on Wednesday night. As many as 93 cylinders and 60 regulators have still not been recovered. The Special Investigation Team has started its investigation into the matter.

On Tuesday late evening when hospital deputy superintendent lodged an FIR in the Sadar police station and SP Kartik S constituted SIT and started the investigation, the black marketers came under pressure and half of the stolen cylinders reached the store within 24 hours.

The SIT came to know that in the store there is no CCTV either on the gate of the store and also on the main gate of the hospital. The hospital management never issued gate passes for gas cylinders.

Health Minister Banna Gupta called the superintendent BK Singh and got information of all aspects of the theft of cylinders and regulators from the store of the hospital.

The SIT team is investigating the district account manager Bhola Shankar Gupta on the issue of cylinders and regulators. The storekeepers have provided two or three cylinders to every ambulance that is available in the campus of the HMCH in an illegal way.

CPM District Secretary Ganesh Kumar Citu said in concern to this case that the Sadar hospital management had received Rs 1.25 crore for treatment and purchase of other essential equipment for Covid patients.
