From 'balti, lota, thali' ( these 3 are in the FIR) to bikes, 4 wheeler and cell phones Palamu police chief Chandan Kumar Sinha had everything to present before a big gathering of the media persons here today where eight criminals appeared with face covered were remanded in judicial custody while one other minor detained under the juvenile justice act.
The cases were of loot but during its busting a case of burglary was also detected, said the SP. From loot to burglary the crimes were cracked.
The cases are of 3 police stations one of Lesliganj and the other two of Nawa Bazar and Tarhassi.
Again the dates of the commission of crime were the latest one as well as nearly one year old too, added the SP prompting Sinha to say that crime committed would be cracked no matter what dates on the calendar were!
If the case of this August 16 was solved, then there were cases dated 22.9.21 and 15.4.2022 that too were cracked.
There was a loot case driven by fuel crisis and shortage of money for buying it. This crime was committed on NH 98.
A poor couple was robbed of their personal belongings in the jungles with lathi and pistol, a combination, which police believe to be the handiwork of the braggart criminals.
Sources said three press notes, three sets of criminals and three different texts of the crime were enough to make press men 'confused' forcing them to request the SP not to have a 'wholesale of remand in judicial custody in one press briefing'.
It was a different press briefing in the sense that cops and officials of three police stations appeared with their accused and recovered one by one as 'space behind the chair of the SP' was not sufficient enough to parade 8+1 together.
Accused to be remanded in judicial custody are paraded behind the chair of the SP facing the battery of lens of the media people in the front.
At the press briefing two journalists raised the issue of improper way of communication by police officers of Chainpur and Hussainabad which SP Chandan Kumar Sinha heard patiently and in reference to the Chainpur police station he right through the press briefing phoned the officer concerned to mend ways or get ready to face suspension.
As regards Hussainabad police's inadequate communication the SP seemed to protect his officers saying if the police officer had not much of the information with himself then how could he be able to share it with the media.
The SP was flanked by SDPOs Surjit Kumar and Alok Kumar Tuti.
