In a special drive carried on in different blocks of Hazaribagh district 1,434 mentally-disabled kids were identified and on the direction of DC Manish Ranjan legal guardians of 810 kids were appointed.
DC has directed the block officials to organise special camp to identify the mentally-disabled kids. In different blocks after survey camps were organised and their legal guardians were appointed. In the camps both kids and their guardian were given identity card and certificate of being differently-abled.
Now the kids will get proper medical facility and other government benefits. The district administration has prepared a Performa to be filled online by the legal guardians to get the benefits. NGO Samajik Samasya Nivaran Kendra has been given the responsibility to register and provide benefits to such kids.
Hazaribagh is the first district in entire country where 810 mentally retarded kids will be treated at a time. The highest number was 80 till date. DC Ranjan has congratulated all the BDOs, COs, CDPOs, MOs and staffs of blocks for their committed effort.
Kids identified block wise is as follows, in town area—37, in Sadar rural area—103, Barkagaon—92, Chauparan—44, Keredari—18, Padma-22, Katkamsandi—63, Katkamdag— 67, Churchu 31, Barkattha 26, Tatijharia—30, Vishnugarh—75, Barhi—64 and Ichak—118.
