Even after 24 hours of rape of a minor girl in broad daylight near Peterwar under the Gola Police Station of Ramgrah district, the police have failed to get any breakthrough. According to police sources, 8-year-old schoolgirl of Class-V, Baby (named changed) and resident of Bhubhai village of Hensaponda panchayat in Gola area, at a stone throw distance from Peterwar Police Station, was picked up by two motorcycle riders when she was coming back home from Kustegraha middle school, near Peterwar and forcibly dragged the girl to a nearby forest area and raped her.
A passerby was unaware of any mishap with innocent girl and was shocked to learn that Baby was lying on the roadside. It was believed that she was raped and was later thrown on the Peterwar-Gola road.
When the girl started crying, people gathered there and rushed the child to the local hospital. After first aid, she has been referred to Ranchi for better treatment. Prime facie, it is an open and shut case because patches of blood stains have also been found on the clothes –stated the local police.
In this connection, police have lodged an FIR against some unknown persons under Section 376 of the IPC and also set up several teams to nab the culprits. However, any arrest is yet to be made.
The tension is brewing at Gola and Peterwar areas as even after 24 hours, the culprits are still at large. The girl’s parents are still in a state of shock. They find it difficult to believe that the someone could commit such a heinous crime.
