Hazaribag police have arrested eight hardcore members of JJMP (Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad ) from the jungle of Barkagaon block of the district on Sunday night. Police have recovered posters and a diary from them.
Hazaribag Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Chothey said that they were getting regular information that a huge number of extremists belonging to the banned organization were staying in the jungle. The leader of the organization was also with the members.
A team was formed by the district police and ordered to move to the jungle. In the night the team saw that some of the people were staying under the tree. The police covered the whole area and started to arrest the members.
The leader of the organization Rohit Turi tried to run away from there, but a police team arrested him. Police have recovered naxal posters, other posters along with a diary and mobile phone sets from there.
The extremists, who were arrested by the police include Ravi Ranjan, Sonu Kumar, Gango Kumar, Ganesh Paswan, Anuj Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Pappu Kumar and Rohit Turi.
The SP said that this is the biggest achievement of Hazaribag police in recent times. All arrested extremists are from Langatu Village of Barkagaon block. All the arrested members were sent to jail by the police on Monday evening.
