An elderly senor person and ex DVC employee committed suicide by hanging himself to the roof of a DVC quarter with rope at Bokaro Thermal here on Friday morning, Inspector cum Officer-in charge Rajesh Kujur said.
The deceased has been identified as Jhari Mahto (70), a resident DVC quarter no HMD -37D at Nishanhut in Bokaro Thermal .AS per police sources, it is learnt that the victim who had retired from DVC service in the year 2007 and was living with her wife and grand daughter .The victim Jhari Mahto had lost his both legs in road accident two year ago and was under severe desperation which led him to take this extreme step on Friday early morning.
It is said that he hanged himself in his quarter at early this morning in-between 3 to 4am when his grand daughter was sleeping in other room while his wife had gone to her daughter at Ranchi road .The incident came to light in the morning when the grand daughter woke up, said sub-inspector RD Singh of Bokaro thermal PS.
Police rushed the spot and have registered the case 4/17 .Further investigation are on
