Palamu police arrested six criminals, two for the crime of murder committed and four for planning to commit crime here on Monday. SP, Palamu, Indrajeet Mahatha on Monday called a press briefing on two incidents.
Mahatha said, “Bholu Yadav and Ashok Yadav were held on charge of murdering a 24 year old tribal girl a trainee nurse in the jungle of Ramgarh police station in Palamu on Thursday. The girl was first throttled and then her face was destroyed with a stone.” The SP said, “It was a murder neither for flesh nor for any cash. The deceased was not sexually assaulted. Her post mortem report did not mention any hint or sign of any sexual assault on her.”
What the SP told the media persons was most hair raising, “The two Yadavs murdered her as they believed she had recognized them taking wine in the jungle of Ramgarh and she would go around her village telling about them. This they did not want then. They finished her.” The Yadavs are of Palamu while the girl hailed from Latehar district but her village in Barwadeeh in Latehar district is too close to Palamu’s Hutar in Ramgarh police station where on her return from Hutar for her home this tragedy occurred to her.
Reminded that this murder is no pre planned or pre meditated but committed on the spur of the moment SP said, “The two who killed her had one common fear of getting exposed by her. This they did not like. They had asked her to stop but since they were taking wine she might not have found it fit to stop then and so she moved faster away from them. The two then ran after her. It was all with one intention to stop her but it ended in the stoppage of life of her by them.”
Police have recovered the stone used in the crime. Bholu and Ashok were remanded in judicial custody on Monday DEC 17.
In other incident Palamu police aborted a plan to loot a hywa near a coal siding of Hindalco at Sikka More tonight around 2 am on Monday. The SP said that six youths in the age group of 19 to 21 had had a fun time post winter night around 1.30 am tonight near Sikka More with all mixture, wine, water, knife and pistol and cartridges to loot this heavy vehicle but inspector of police of Parwa police station Rustam Khan and 12 other officials and cops of the Police Station raided Sikka More and nabbed four of the 6.
The arrested persons are Shashi Bhushan Singh, Vivek Singh, Ranjeet Kumar Singh and NIranjan Mehta. All these four were remanded in judicial custody today. The SP said that two persons, who had escaped cannot go any far as police have enough inputs about their identity and other details.
