The 5th Apex Committee meeting of the ongoing Safety Cultural Transformation Campaign in BSL named “Kavach” for better safety at the workplace was held on 6th December under the chairmanship of Amarendu Prakash, Director-in-charge of BSL. ED (Personnel & Administration) Sanjay Kumar, ED (Finance & Accounts) Suresh Rangani, ED (Projects) CR Mohapatra, Chief General Manager (Services) Anil Kumar, Chief General Manager (Security) A. Jha, along with JK Anand and his team members were present on behalf of Safety Consultant ASK-EHS Engineering & Consultants Pvt. At the beginning of the meeting, the safety pledge was administered to the present group by DIC Prakash and a video on defensive driving was shown. During the meeting, the activities and progress of the last one year of the Safety Cultural Transformation Campaign were discussed.
It is noteworthy that everyone was encouraged in the meeting to train other personnel including contractors through their respective personnel. Apart from this, the implementation of other aspects including evaluation of contractors, risk control of critical processes, near misses and increasing the use of ART App for reporting potential hazards were discussed. The Director-in-Charge emphasized the need for BSL personnel at all levels to join the campaign and adopt safety related initiatives for the success of the safety cultural transformation. After the meeting, the first Management Safety Walkaround was organized in CRM-3, which was led by Director-in-Charge BSL.
