57 road accidents in 3 months in Palamu

57 road accidents in 3 months in Palamu make this district a highly road accident prone district. An official note read that in these 57 road accidents, 46 lost their lives and 40 were injured.

Sources said Palamu must make its accident hot pots public as there is no idea as to where there is a blind curve and where there is a vulnerability to accidents.

There has been a lesser number of accidents in the Sultanee Ghati on NH 98 than accidents on NH 98 elsewhere for the simple reason that people are aware of the dangers lurking on this Sultanee Ghatee. Caution is exercised in abundance here, said sources.

DC Palamu Anjaneyulu Dodde in the meeting stressed about delinking of drive from drink. He pushed off his SDOs to find out which of the line hotels across the NHs are serving wine without having bar licence etc.

SDO sadar Rajesh Kumar Sah and district excise officer Bimla Lakra late on the Monday evening raided 3 line hotels and in one they found wine there with the food served.

The line hotel owner denied serving any wine saying he does not stock it. It is the travellers who bring bottles of wine with them and drink in the line hotel like those who bring rotis with them and order for just pulse fried!

SDO sadar Rajesh Kumar Sah said the district excise officer Bimla Lakra and her team of excise personnel seized the served wine while the diners in the line hotel on whose plate was found wine went their way.
