The HRD department has decided to increase the number of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in the State. Presently, there are 203 KGBVs functioning since 2010-11 session. More 57 KGBVs will be opened in new blocks. The residential school for girls provides quality education from class 6 to 12. 50 seats will be added from class 6 to 8. The government is also willing to introduce I.Sc and I.Com in these schools from the ongoing academic session 2015-16. A meeting of KGBV representatives with DSE is scheduled from June 15 to 18.
