A seven day strict quarantine has been imposed on the batch of 57 labourers in the Essar Power Jharkhand Limited Chandwa in Latehar under order of the DC Latehar Abu Imran said the district supply officer Santosh Kumar Singh.
Singh said these labourers have come from Maharashtra and UP via Ranchi where they were tested too but without waiting for the result of the Covid test these labourers of Maharashtra and UP rolled down for Chandwa from Ranchi which in itself is a great violation of the Covid pandemic appropriate behaviour and norms.
Sources said the DC Latehar Abu Imran saw red over this flagrant violation of the Covid protocol in time like this when Latehar too has a positive case of Coronavirus. Singh said the 57 labourers arrived in Chandwa around 4 in the morning on Friday today but an alert Latehar district administration did not give any time and rushed in a high powered team which included SDO Latehar S Kumar, he and others there in Chandwa to find out the things.
Singh said the 57 were again put to test along with a 7 day quarantine.
The arrival of the labourers from outside the state specially from Maharashtra which is battling against the menacing surge of the Coronavirus cases requires permission and maintenance of the Covid protocol which the Essar Power Jharkhand Limited just threw to the wind. This Power unit was e auctioned on March 19 and these labourers are of the successful bidder of the e auction. Singh said the labourers will be having their quarantine in the premises of the Essar Power Jharkhand Limited Chandwa itself.
