Even though the State police force are facing shortage of officials in the field, postings of almost a full batch of DSP’s have been put on hold due to unknown reasons. Despite the fact that they have completed their training on April 20 and their training assessment report has been sent to the State Government, as many as 56 trained DSPs are still awaiting their postings in field.
“As we have been left with no work since April 20 after our training evaluation report was sent... it is quite disappointing for us,” said a newly trained DSP requesting anonymity.
Adding more to their disappointment, two of their colleagues of the same batch, undergoing the training along with them, recently got posted to Ranchi and Gumla, which never happened before in this State, added the DSP. Earlier, it has been a trend that everyone in the batch will get posted at the same time, he said.
“If the process had not been completed, they would have waited for some more time, issuing the notification at the same time, so that others did not have felt alienated,” said another trainee DSP.
ADG (Operations) and Jharkhand Police Spokesperson SN Pradhan however, assured that the remaining trainees will soon get their postings as the required process has been completed. “Due to some technical issues some of them have been posted and the remaining others will soon get their postings in a day or two,” said Pradhan.
Remarkably, at least 100 posts out of a total of 357 sanctioned posts of DSPs in the State is still vacant due to several reasons, despite that the Government did not seem to be serious in this regard.
“Due to the delayed promotion and recruitment of the DSPs as many as 100 posts of DSPs are still vacant across the state,” said president of Police Association Sunil Kumar.
