Fifty three samples out of 134 sent to RIMS Ranchi for coronavirus test has come negative till April 12 said civil surgeon Palamu John F Kennedy.

Kennedy said, “On an average we get test report a dozen from Ranchi and all have so far till April 12 remained negative.” However, he said there is no room for complacency and people must adhere to social distancing and must also reveal their travel history which if hidden for no gain proves too dangerous.

Kennedy said around 2,300 sahiyyas are moving house to house taking notes of travel history of family members. Each sahiyya is to do at least 50 house a day by noting down details of travel history.

The Civil surgeon has asked people to co operate with sahiyyas when they reach their houses as any hiding of travel history or sickness whatsoever it may be may prove too bad for everyone.

These ground health work force is knocking at doors to find out who the latest is to join the family after any jaunt outside homes beit outside district, state etc.

Kennedy said health workers face resistance when people are asked to undergo institutional quarantine. Home quarantine they do not resent much but when it comes to institutional quarantine which is a government quarantine they react and resist said civil surgeon.

On Sunday three boys came from Kota to Daltonganj by car, who were given institutional quarantine at one of the schools here but here too their parents wanted them to be with the families which health team declined to oblige said Kennedy.
