Adityapur police nabbed a 50-year-old driver, Arjun Singh, in the wee hours of Wednesday for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old tribal girl staying in his neighbourhood at Bhatia Basti under Adityapur police station in the neighbouring Seraikela-Kharsawan district.
According to Adityapur police station officer-in-charge, Bijay Kumar Singh, finding the girl alone in her house the accused had barged inside and raped her late evening and threatened of dire consequences, if she complained. However, the girl complained to her parents last night when they returned from Tusu fair. Peeved over the incident the parents lodged a case with Adityapur police who arrested the accused from a deserted spot. The girl has been sent for medical examination to Seraikela Sadar hospital.
