An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) allegedly committed suicide inside the premises of Bokaro Thermal police station here on Sunday morning, DIG, Saket Kumar Singh said. Soon after the incident the DIG, SP YS Ramresh, Dy SP Raj Kumar Mehta, DY SP Ajay Kumar reached the spot.
The ASI has been identified as lal Jee Singh (50) was resident of Buxer in Bihar who was found hanging from an iron hook inside his barrack room. According to Bokaro SP YS Ramesh a call was received at 8 am on Sunday that ASI lal Jee Singh has committed suicide by hanging himself with his lungi.
He was posted at Bokaro Thermal police here last six month.DIG Saket Kumar Singh has ordered a high level inquiry into the incident. The body is being sent to the Tenughat for a post-mortem.
It seems to be case of suicide though no suicide note has been recovered, police said.
