The Daltonganj police detained 50 bandh activists drawn from bandh supporting political parties and other outfits under section 151 of CrPC and let them off in the evening said the SP Palamu Patel Mayur K lal. Patel Mayur said the bandh was peaceful and incident free. Sources said the SP had drawn an adequate and un obstructive police bandobast here and at other places too. Police jawans and officers were found on duty from early morning.The bandh supporters too cried only but harmed none said sources.
Patel Mayur said on the eve of the bandh Sunday he had a long session with the officials of the police for the maintenance of law and order and peace. The forces helped elderly people. Vehicles were off the roads. lorries, trucks and buses were either sidelined on the roads and did not roll out till 12 in the noon. The BJP leadership in Palamu has described the bandh as poor and a cruel obstacle for people who are quite busy in this lagan of marriage time.
