A five year case related to maintenance was finally settled through mediation at Ranchi Civil Court in which a consensus was reached under which the daughter in law Mayawati Devi will pay a sum of Rs 10000 per month to the mother in law Basmati Devi. The case was filed in the year 2012 by Basmati Devi seeking maintenance from her daughter in law, who was given a job of her husband on compensatory ground, but later refused to discharge her responsibility towards her. The matter was referred by the Court to Advocate Madhusudan Ganguly who succeeded in helping them to reach at a consensus acceptable to both the parties.
