The Health and Family Welfare department officials, Garhwa sealed at least five privately run ultrasonography scan units in Garhwa district for violating the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act.
Following the direction of the Deputy Commissioner Harsh Mangala ultrasound units have been sealed.
A joint team of district administration and health officials headed by Civil Surgeon Dr. N K Rajak sealed the ultrasound unit on Tuesday evening.
Dr. Rajak said that Three months ago the ultrasound centers operated in the city were inspected and marking them an illegally operated ultrasound center. Notices were also served them for clarification. In the response of notice they informed their ultrasound centers have been closed, but their ultrasound centers were being operated.
BDO Jago Mahto who was also in team said that the ultrasound clinics which were sealed include Mata Vaishnao Devi, Life Line Ultrasound, Divya Ultrasound, Arogyam Ultrasound Center and Nina Gupta ultrasound.
