Five poachers have been arrested in the tiger reserve area. The arrests were made in the afternoon of June 30 but they were produced in the court on Tuesday. The DFO Core Premjit Anand has confirmed this nabbing of five.
The tiger reserve officials have seized two country made guns, one iron rod and cut pieces of two turtles. The five are said to be the regular poachers preying hard on deer as snares were also recovered from them.They are identified as Adison, Suresh, Binod, Bijender and Sunder. A confusion was created over their age as their kin, in order to lessen the offence, wanted them to pass as below 18 years of age but none were below 18 years contended Premjit Anand. Anand said there were 13 but 8 managed to slip.
