The Bokaro Thermal police team seized five motorcycles laden with illegal coal here on Friday.
Inspector cum officer-in charge Prameshwar leyangi and Gandhi Nagar officer-in charge Rana Bhanu Pratap Singh have launched a fresh drive against illegal coal mafia on the direction of Bokaro SP YS Ramesh to prevent rampant illegal coal smuggling through motorbikes in Upparghat and Pilpillo - Khasmahal forest areas across the Bermo sub-division.
According to police, the the motorbikes were loaded with approx 7 quintal of illegal coal from Pilpillo-Khasmahal area here on Friday early morning. The coal smugglers who manage to escape from the spot after seeing the police.
