Five youths were pushed behind the bars for using and spreading hate among communities, animosity, notes hurting religious sentiments on social media portal.

SP Palamu Ajay Linda said, “Palamu police are very tough with all those elements who have refused to listen to sane advice of police not to write, spread hate messages that outrage sentiments of any community and deepens divide between the two communities.”

Linda said these five have been booked in a span of two weeks. Sources said none has raised any finger on the neutrality of police as its actions are against offenders of both the communities.

A facebook user said, “ Once a hate message comes in reaction of it is posted an equally damaging and hurtful message and then a trail starts of it without understanding the consequences of it.”

Linda said, “I have directed my all SDPOs , officers in charge, inspectors of police to be on guard against abuse of social media and take immediate actions against all those who indulge in verbal religious assault.”

Reminded that despite severe police action cases of abuse of social media fail to stop to which Linda said “ This shows the mind set of a very few people coming from both the communities who have this notion that writing obscene things about other’s religion will make them popular but the fact is law gets first on them.”

Sources said political pressure comes on police when action against abuser of social media platform is done. Linda however said, “Palamu police go by rule of law. We do not have time to listen to any such request in regard to either give someway leeway to offenders or to give them any more chance.”

SDPO Sadar Sandip Kumar Gupta said “ We had issued an appeal in which police had given a chance to abusers of social media platform to delete all such messages either written in the past or fresh ones without sharing it anymore.”

Gupta said despite such opportunity there are ‘facebook warriors’ ( a great satire) who do not refrain from indulging in spreading communal hatred against each other.

He said a warning not to spread hate has been miked too which has been heard by all but not followed by a miniscule section of people.

SDPO Bishrampur Surjit Kumar has also appealed to people to abstain from any such activity which weakens harmony and amity.

SP Linda said “ It is time for all of us to fight coronavirus but there are very few people who quite mindlessly are trying to vitiate communal atmosphere which will be curbed and contained with a very firm hands of law of the land.”

The SP further added there are youths who use fake ID and live in notion that police will not be able to track them down and for such people police want to tell them use your wisdom to fight coronavirus and not dare to spread communal virus.
