This year too the Ravana Dahan Samiti of Hazaribagh has made preparations to burn the effigy of demon king Ravana in the premises of Hazaribagh stadium.
This year a 48-feet-high effigy of Ravana has been made by the Bedia brothers. On Monday from 6 pm, Ravana Dahan programme will start at the local stadium. It was stated by Bhaiya Abhimanyu Prasad, Secretary of Ravana Dahan Samiti, in a Press conference held at Prabhu Niwas Market on Friday.
He said that this year with the burning of effigy of demon king, a special firework show has been arranged by the samiti. This firework show will last for about 70 minutes. For this show, workers from Jharia, Giridih and Asansol are preparing for the last one week. Prasad said that last year the people in Hazaribagh had witnessed the effigy burning programme in large numbers and they were hoping a huge turnout this year too. “To tackle the crowd we have sought help from the district and police administration. They have agreed to give special police force for the event. Barricading in stadium premises is going on to control the crowd,” he added.
Members of Ravana Dahan Samiti Harish Srivastava, Sunil Sinha, Rajkumar lal, Rajkumar Yadav, Satyadev Singh, Raghu Jaiswal, Tarun Chakraborty, Vivek Bhushan, Dabbu, Rakesh Ranjan and others were also present during this press conference.
