The Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) is all set to witness another race as 47 candidates filed nominations for elections to the executive committee of the apex body of businessmen in Jharkhand. The association finally on Friday declared the contestants for the election.

To the happiness of the election committee the association received overwhelming response from the members contrary to the fear of getting to fewer nominations for the election. The election will take place on September 20 and result will be declared on September 21.

“Around 47 applications have been submitted and candidates have the opportunity to withdraw names form the election till September 10. Elections will take place the very next day of the Annual General Meeting,” said Chairman of the Election Committee, lalit Kedia.

However, as the federation is heading towards another battle among the people who want to secure interests of the business community and take the association to a new high, the federation shunned the idea of implementing newer measures to reform elections. Nonetheless, the election committee vowed to take certain measures deemed fit to conduct flawless elections. The FJCCI was contemplating computer based polling in previous election. “Introducing computers in election is not feasible because of the sheer number of members. Yet, we will plug in certain lacunae in the election which we observed in last election,” maintained Kedia.
