Based on a tip-off, CRPF and police personnel launched a search operation near Budha Pahad area on a pathway in between Kulhi - Bahera village under Bhandariya police station limit around 100 Km away from district headquarter and 300 Km far from Ranchi and seized 46 IEDs planted in series, on Wednesday.

“46 IED bombs were planted in a 150 meter radius, which were recovered by our BDDS team and destroyed successfully," said CRPF Commandant Ashish Kumar Jha.

Budha Pahad situated on the border of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand is known as the safe hideout of the Maoists. Top Maoist leaders, who were carrying a reward of one crore on their heads, Arvind ji and Sudhakaran used to carry out Naxal activity in the entire Jharkhand from Budha Pahad.

Many big operations were carried out by the Jharkhand Police to free Budha Pahad from the Maoists, but even then Budha Pahad has not been freed from the Rebels. Naxal activities are being carried out in these areas under the leadership of Maoist leader Vimal, the SP added.

The search operation by the forces is still ongoing in the forest area, he said.
