Chief Minister Raghubar Das said on Saturday that the Government was making all possible efforts to eradicate unemployment from the State.
Announcing 45,000 jobs for youths of the State in Government sector by March this year, he also urged job-seekers to lean to private sectors and self employment, as Government alone was not in a position to accommodate entire unemployed population with it.
The CM took the chance of inaugurating two-day State level Dattopand Thengadi Job Fair by Department of labour and Employment at ITI Ground (Hehal) on Saturday for fabricating vision of the Government on one of the most serious issues of the State – unemployment. He said that over 72 companies and institutions had gathered in the fair with over 6,000 ready employment opportunities, which would bring smile to at least similar number of families in two days.
“We have to make a Skilled Jharkhand in another five years and we have capabilities to make it possible in participation with the private sector, which is ready to consume any number of skilled labourers. This is why we are focusing more and more on skill development. In an era of globalization, every other company requires skilled labourer, that also at a low cost. I urge job seekers to have faith in them, give your best at wherever you are employed from here and make the nation proud of you,” said Das. He also encouraged the youth to go and watch Dangal movie, which he saw on Friday itself, to get inspired from.
Das also criticized previous Governments for making Domicile Policy a political weapon, which ultimately created unparalleled damage as far as jobs in Government sector were concerned.
“But our Government simplified this and we have been able to provide some 30,000 jobs in Government sector in last two years,” said the CM. The CM also distributed around half a dozen joining letters to successful job-getters in the Fair.
Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma said, on the occasion that the process of conversion of 43 Employment Exchanges in the State into Model Career Counseling Centres equipped with library and other kiosks providing information about various employment opportunities has already begun in the State. “These centres will work an interface of employers and job seekers,” Verma said.
She also said that Rs60,000 crores worth investment pact was ready to be done during upcoming Global Investor Summit on February 16-17, after which there will be a huge upsurge in the demand of employable and skilled workforce. “These model centres will help companies getting desired manpower at the earliest,” said Verma.
labour and Employment Department Minister Raj Paliwar took the opportunity to reveal that Jharkhand was the only State whose labour department was on the top in the country by the World Bank since this Government came into power in terms of efforts being made for employment and skill development. “Ours is also the only State where such a job fair has been organised,” said Paliwar in the programme where Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) Mayor Asha lakra, Hatia MlA Naveen Jaiswal, labour and Employment Department Secretary Amitabh Kaushal and department Director Rakesh Kumar Singh were also present among others.
He also urged job seekers to follow ideals of Dattopant Thengadi, who fought for labour rights throughout his life. Notably, Thengadi was the founder of the largest labour unions of the world in country like Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh and Bhartiya Kisan Sangh, apart from being the founder of Swadeshi Jagaran Manch. He remained a RSS Pracharak till he died on October 14, 2004.
