The famous Ram Navami procession of Hazaribagh started in the evening of Thursday. Over 100 tableaux accompanied with DJ sound boxes, Dhol and tashas and enthusiastic youths carrying traditional arms and tools in their hands will roam in the city for more than next 36 hours.
Flood of devotees from the rural areas has started reaching into the city from all sides and they will not only enjoy the entire processions but also take part in the presentations of different akharas. The district administration has also finalised its preparations and after the meeting of responsible district and police officials everyone departed for the marathon duty assigned to them at fixed spots.
This year 98 akharas have procured licence from the district administration to take part in this procession. Besides this about two dozen akharas with their tableaux of rural areas will also take part in this marathon Ramnavmi procession of Hazaribagh.
like previous years this year the akharas have made tableaux on burning political, social and other issues including the mythological stories. Some akharas have arranged live performances while most of the committees have chosen topics of Ramayana for their tableaux.
This year the spectators will see Yogi Aditya Nath, PM Narendra Modi and other political stars in the tableaux spreading the message of save the girl child, save the nation, sabka sath sabka vikash etc.
The district administration has arranged keeping eye on the miscreants through CCTV cameras as well as static and patrolling teams posted in entire city. This year the district administration has provided special jacket and sticks having radium light to the magistrates and turban to the members of mahasamiti and peace committee.
NGOs and other social organizations are also ready to serve the devotees during next 36 hours. Municipal council has arranged drinking water facility, bio-toilets etc. while some organizations are ready to distribute eatables among the devotees.
The needles of the clock are running fast and everyone here is now eagerly waiting for the start of the proceedings. The sound of DJ and dhol tasha has started echoing the city which is a sign that the tableauxes have started moving from their area and it is expected that by 10pm tonight they will assemble near the starting point i.e. Jhanda chowk of main road of the city.
