In the 27-year-old and final case of the fodder scam, a special CBI court heard the point of sentencing of 36 accused on Friday. The Special Court of Special CBI Judge, Vishal Srivastava sentenced all the 36 accused convicted in the case to 4 years imprisonment. Along with this, a fine of Rs 3 lakh to Rs 1 crore has also been imposed on the accused.
The case is related to illegal withdrawal of 36.59 crores from Doranda Treasury. Earlier on August 28, a hearing was held in this matter.
Earlier, on August 28, the special CBI court had given its verdict on 124 accused in the case of illegal withdrawal from Doranda treasury in the fodder scam case. In which 35 accused were acquitted and 53 accused were convicted and sentenced to less than 3 years and up to 3 years of imprisonment.
In this case 17 witnesses were recorded in the Special CBI Court set for hearing of the case. In the statement more than 50, 000 documents and evidence were presented. On August 28, the court had acquitted 35 people in this case of fodder scam going on since 1996 while 53 accused were sentenced to less than 3 years. Due to the sentence of less than three years, they got bail from the lower court itself. Now they will appeal in the High Court. The 36 accused who were sentenced on Friday include Nityanand Kumar Singh, Dr Junul Bhengraj, Dr Krishna Mohan Prasad, Dr Radha Raman Sahai, Dr Gauri Shankar Prasad and Dr Ravindra Kumar Singh.
Apart from this, Dr Phanindra Kumar Tripathi, Mahendra Prasad, Devendra Prasad Srivastava, Ashok Kumar Yadav, Ramnandan Singh, Bijeshwari Prasad Sinha and Ajay Kumar Sinha were also were sentenced. Accused Rohan Mehta, Ravin Nandan Kumar Sinha, Rajendra Kumar Harit, Anil Kumar, Tripathi Mohan Prasad, Dayanand Prasad Kashyap, Sharad Kumar, Suresh Dubey, Mohammad Saeed has also been sentenced for four years imprisonment While Mohammad Tauhid, Sanjay Kumar, Rama Shankar Singh, Umesh Dubey, Arun Kumar Verma, Ajit Kumar Verma, Sushil Kumar Sinha, Jagmohan Lal Kakkar, Shyam Nandan Sinha, Mohinder Singh Bedi, Pradeep Kumar Chowdhary, Satyendra Kumar, Madan Mohan and Pradeep Vashisht were also sentenced .
